Why Yoga?
Yoga is not just about stretching the body. Yoga is a process to gain stillness in the mind so we can see more clearly and allow more ease-and-flow to do our best work and be our best selves. The movements of yoga are an expression of the body that bring us strength and stability so our bodies can move with us better throughout life.
I started practicing yoga in 1996 in Paris. Then as a working mom, I found online yoga to be a great solution. In my practice I have explored kundalini, hatha, vinyasa flow, Iyengar, prenatal yoga, kirtan, meditation, and more.
After many yoga classes and retreats, I became a 500-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance. I trained through Yoga Works with teachers including Mynx Inatsugu, Melanie Salvatore-August, Tiffany Russo, Jeanne Heileman, Dianne Bondy, Marc Holzman, and more. I am grateful to have had incredible teachers guide me on my yoga journey.
I teach Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Meditation, and Mindfulness.
I currently teach online and in-person at:
Atma Yoga in Orinda, CA - Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 PM (All levels flow)
Oakwood Athletic Club in Lafayette, Ca - Mondays, 4:30-6 PM (Yoga 1/2)
I offer in-person classes for private and small group lessons and online courses, both live and on-demand.

Corporate Retreats: Wellness is the cornerstone to building trust and creating high-performing teams and a thriving culture. Bring your team together for a retreat like no other. Connect mind, body, and spirit. In these retreats, I weave together and leverage Patrick Lencioni’s Five Behaviors, CoActive Coaching principles, and the ancient practice of yoga philosophy for a mind body experience that uplifts, energizes, and centers your team together.
Gentle Yoga: Incorporate breath work, core strengthening exercises, flexibility, and meditation. Whether you are waking up or taking a mindfulness break from your day, this class will gently energize your whole body helping you feel strong and calm to move with ease into what is next.
Vinyasa Flow: Link movement to breath and build some heat and flexibility in this class. Come sweat, gain stability, get out of your head and increase ease and flow throughout your life. Flow classes offer variations for the level of the students.
Yoga for Seniors: We are what we practice. Keeping a strong, stable, flexible body means you are not a burden on those around you and that you can show empathy to yourself and others. Age does not have to be a barrier to health, but you do have to choose to invite in healthy practices. I love working with seniors who want to gain back mobility and strength or continue their practice so they can stay active and live well.
Other yoga styles weaved into Monica’s teachings: Hatha, Yoga Nidra, Yin, Restorative
