What we can learn from the new moon in Sagittarius

A new moon entered Sagittarius on December 1, and the next six months are a time to connect to a stable foundation and focus on your bold vision. I had fun weaving the archer theme into my yoga classes for the week. Here is a fun way you can practice it at home.

Identify what you would like to focus on for the next six months.

  • Do you want to learn something new, embark on an adventure, or step outside of your comfort zone?

  • Do you want to reflect on your values and beliefs that might lead you to change a habit or start something new?

  • Is there a project you’ve been longing to accomplish where tapping into your vision and creativity would serve you well?

  • Do you want to connect to like-minded individuals and foster a greater sense of community?

Create a steady foundation. This could be any standing or sitting pose. From a standing pose, notice and feel your feet on the ground. Engage your strong legs and core. Say thank you to your feet and toes. From a sitting pose, root down from your seat and rise up to get a little taller through the crown of your head. Say thank you to your body for creating this strong foundation to serve you.

Connect to your creativity and inspiration. Say to yourself, “I am ________.” Add a word to embody what will serve you during this time. Then write down one small step you can take to get started.

Aim for where you want to go. Embody the archer pose, pull back your arrow, aim, and release. In Sagittarius, the constellation guides us to the center of the Milky Way. You’re your strong foundation, where will your center guide you? Consider finding a picture that represents what you want or create a vision board.

Take small steps toward your project and the greater vision for yourself.

What’s one thing you can do today that will bring you closer to your vision for six months from now?

You could do nothing and in six months, be in the same place, or you could do one small thing and be that much closer to your goals.
